While going through my archive today I found a couple of “lost” clips I shot of Julius Shapiro during a photo shoot on October 31, 2013 for "The Wondrous Lives of Julius Shapiro" written by his daughter Laurie Gwen Shapiro. The camera audio is terrible at best but this moment with Julius is priceless.
Narratively’s description of Laurie’s story:
He was a jovial Lower East Side gangster, wartime chemical researcher and secretive color television pioneer. An inquisitive daughter wants the full story, but this ninety-three-year-old would rather drink his coffee and read his book in peace.
Some outtakes from the shoot.
