Of all the chapters and tips from this book, the one I retained - it made me laugh out loud - is this:
"President Richard Nixon was shaking hands with a crowd of visitors to the White House when a little girl called out, "How's Smokey the Bear?" She was referring to a newly acquired bear at the Washington Zoo. Unable to make out the girl's words, Nixon turned to an aide for help. The aide whispered to him, "Smokey the Bear, Washington Zoo."
A few minutes later Nixon walked up to the girl, shook her hand and said, "How do you do, Miss Bear?" " (pg. 181 - How to be a better listener)
